Education
I went to grade-school in Austin, TX and college in San Antonio, TX.
University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA)
I spent four years at UTSA and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's in computer science. It was honestly a pretty fun experience and weirdly I wouldn't mind going back and doing it again.
There's really only so much you can learn on a chalkboard, so I'd say the most useful classes I took were the more do-it-yourself ones. I realized I learn best through hands-on experience rather than sitting down and learning theory. And yes, they actually did still have chalkboards in the classrooms.
Vandegrift High School
I went to Vandegrift High School in Austin. I tend to get some weird looks when I tell people that. Usually people our band or football team beat at some point. I guess you could call that suffering from success.
I took pretty much every computer science class they offered there, which gave me a really strong foundation early on which let me skip some of the basics when I got to college. I took a digial forensics class my senior year, which was so memorable that I was able to teach somebody something I learned in the class, steganography, almost four years later in college (also mentioned on the Work page).
Outside of School
A lot of what I know about computer science and otherwise is self-taught. I've always been a lifelong learner, so I go out of my way to learn as much as I can about as much as I can.
I think it's sad when people forget how to learn things. I've been trying my best to learn as much as possible so that doesn't happen to me.
