Hobbies
There are a few things outside of work that help roll me out of bed.
Hiking
I really enjoy hiking nature trails. Here in Texas it unfortunately gets a little too hot most of the time but whenever it cools down I'm always keen to hit the trail.
I especially like to go after it rains and all the creeks have water flowing through them. I've always had a special connection with water and there's nothing better than sitting down next to a small stream feeding into a serene pond and just taking it in. I've been in-land my whole life but I've always wanted to live by the sea for the same reason.
Cooking
I'm admittedly not great at it yet but I love to cook. It's something I've always wanted to get better at, so much so that I even considered going to college for it at one point.
I'm especially partial to dishes like fettuccine chicken alfredo and beef stew. I've always wanted to give beef wellington a try though.
Game development
I made my first video game when I was just ten years old. It's been a lifelong passion and has been a constant for me ever since I started. It's almost hard to imagine my life without it.
I started out making fan-games of a certain smash-hit indie horror game, but I've since branched out into making my own original projects. My current project has taken six years so far and takes nearly two hours to play through right now. It's up past 1.3k commits on GitHub now which is honestly a little hard to fathom.
